The RSO is a registered Non-Profit organisation (old Section 21) that is "owned" by its members.  Membership is granted through an admission process which involves an evaluation of an applicant's musicianship.  A member's responsibilties include practicing their instrument, preparing parts, attending rehearsals and playing and active part in the organisation of the RSO.  Membership fees are currently R600 per annum (2011).  Current members are listed below:
